Message: Been using a Platter Matter on a Thorens TD 165, which of your mats would you recommend? I think the original was a thin rubber mat. Thanks, Mel

Webmaster's reply: Most of our Thorens TD 165 customers use a full-size (295mm-diameter) Way Excellent II-3mm Turntable Mat with "way excellent" results.

Message: I have a VPI Traveller, 2nd generation, and see that you recommend the Full-size Way Excellent ll-2mm Mat. However, my question is, should the mat have the 4.25 inch center hole to accommodate the recess in this platter? Also, I use a VPI center weight most of the time. Thank you.

Webmaster's reply: Sure, Barry. A full-size Way Excellent II-3mm Turntable Mat with 4.25" center hole is most appropriate for the 2nd generation Traveler.

New to your site I just purchased your Super Black Hole CD mat looking forward to trying that, any way what type of mat would you recommend for my Classic VPI 1?

Webmaster's reply: We have lots of customers using a full-size Way Excellent II-2mm Turntable Mat on VPI Classic 1 turntables; we've gotten several customer comments regarding substantial improvement and enjoyment using the mat. Message: I've have a Herbie's mat for some time now and while It doesn't stick to records, dust seems to stick to it pretty well. How do I go about cleaning it? Btw, I keep my deck covered when not in use. Any cleaning tips you can provide are appreciated.

Webmaster's reply: The easiest way is to just dab the mat gently from time to time with a piece of masking tape (not a lint roller, though). Or, you can wipe gently with a cloth or paper towel moistened lightly with water, alcohol, mild detergent solution, anti-static spray, or window cleaner.
